Ethernet Media converters are devices that are designed to convert Ethernet signals of varying networking speeds to fiber optic cables. VERSITRON manufactures a wide range of Ethernet media converters for different types of applications. Our devices provide a UTP connection on the copper side of the link that supports cat5, cat6 type of Ethernet cables. On the fiber side, the units have either a built-in ST, SC connector or support an SFP module with LC connectors.

10/100BaseTX-FX Fast Ethernet Media Converters
Our most basic Ethernet media converter that utilizes auto-sensing to convert a 10Base or 100Base copper signal to 100Base Multimode or Singlemode fiber. The following features are supported:
- Compliance with IEEE802.3 10BaseT and 10BaseFL
- Compliance with IEEE802.3 100Base-TX and a100Base-FX
- Extends network span to 90km
- Provides UTP-to-Fiber media conversion
- Interoperable with 100baseTX, 10BaseT switches
- Supports 10/100M dual speed on TP connections
- Transparent to 802.1Q VLAN tagged packets
- Supports desktop and center chassis mounting
- ST or SC built-in fiber connectors

10/100/1000Base Gigabit Ethernet Media Converter
Our Gigabit Media Converter handles 10/100/1000Base networking speeds and 100Base or 1000Base (SX/LX) on the fiber side. This product makes use of SFP module technology allowing for even more flexibility. The following features are supported:
- 10/100/1000Mbps Copper Port
- 100/1000Mbps Fiber Port
- Full wire speed conversion
- Auto MDI/MDI-X
- Supports jumbo packets up to 9K bytes
- Supports Link Fault Pass-Through (LFP)

Industrial Ethernet Media Converters
We offer media converters that are ruggedized and robust. These devices are well suited to environments that have extreme temperatures, are electrically noisy, and prone to vibration. Offered in both 10/100Base or 10/100/1000Base form factors. The following features are supported:

The PoE PSE (Power Source Ethernet) media converters are well suited for applications where power is limited and remote devices, such as, IP cameras need to receive power from an Ethernet device. Offered in a 10/100/1000Base form factor. The following features are supported:- 10/100/1000Mbps Copper Port
- 1000Mbps Fiber Port
- Built-in 100-240VAC, 50/60Hz power supply
- Provides 48VDC, 15.4W to power remote devices
- Supports over-current protection
- Supports back-pressure flow control for half-duplex
