The M7260PA2 Ethernet to fiber optic media converter is designed to convert 10/100/1000Base Ethernet signals to 100/1000Base Fiber Optic, allowing two network segments to connect easily, efficiently, and cost-effectively. This converter supports 10/100/1000Base-Tx and 100/1000Base-Fx protocols.
This 2-port PoE fiber media converter is equipped with one RJ-45 connector, which supports 10/100/1000Mbps transmission speeds over Cat5/Cat6 twisted-pair cables, with a typical length of up to 100 meters. The RJ-45 connector also supports MDI/MDI-X for straight-through or crossover cables.
Additionally, it features one fiber port, which supports duplex or simplex 100Base or 1000Base fiber optic SFP modules with LC connectors (sold separately). With its long-distance fiber support, this fiber to PoE ethernet converter maintains transmission speeds as high as 1000Mbps. It operates using a high-performance Store and Forward mechanism and prevents packet loss with IEEE 802.3x flow control (full duplex).
This gigabit ethernet fiber media converter also features a DIP switch to enable or disable the Link Fault Pass Through (LFP) function. When the DIP switch is turned ON, the LFP function is enabled (refer to the M7260PA2 manual for details on other DIP switch settings).
The hot-swappable design of this SFP media converter, along with LED indicators for monitoring and diagnosing network activity, makes it easy to install and troubleshoot.
With exceptional longevity, a lifetime warranty, and free unlimited technical support, Versitron's M7260PA2 fiber to copper media converter with PoE is a smart choice for IT professionals.
Applications of PoE Fiber Media Converter:
Power devices such as wireless PoE access points or IEEE 802.3at PoE+ splitters, along with non-PoE compliant Internet cameras, in locations where power outlets are difficult to find.
Enable flexible installation of security IP cameras, wireless access points, and other IEEE 802.3at-compliant network equipment in public areas, such as stations or freeways, to meet surveillance needs.
Facilitate the creation of wireless roaming environments on campuses or at airports.

FAQs
Is the M7260PA2 compliant with TAA regulations?
+
Yes, the unit is TAA compliant.
Is the M7260PA2 compatible with switches and SFP modules from other manufacturers?
+
Yes, as long as network speed and optical wavelengths are matched accordingly.
Does the M7260PA2 include a power supply and connector?
+
Yes, an external power supply is provided.
Can the M7260PA2 transmit a full 1Gbps over about 400-600 ft over fiber?
+
Yes, over Multimode or Singlemode Fiber Optic cable.
Is this PoE media converter capable of supplying power to network cameras and other devices that require higher power?
+
Yes, for powering one PoE device, this media converter is sufficient. For powering multiple devices, we would recommend using one of our
PoE Switches , that provide more ports.
Is the M7260PA2 suitable for DIN rail mounting?
+
This unit is a standalone device. However, DIN rail mounting is available for certain applications.
Is this converter managed?
+
This media converter is an unmanaged plug-and-play style device.
Can the M7260PA2 be powered by a PoE switch instead of using the DC adapter?
+
Yes it can be powered by a PoE Switch.
Can this device function as a converter between Single Mode Fiber and Multimode Fiber (and vice versa)?
+
No, we would recommend our model
M720DA to achieve this conversion.
