Applications of MM to SM Fiber Converter:
This fiber-to-fiber media converter is ideal in a scenario where two in-building multimode networks need to be connected via a single-mode fiber link, the M720DA serves as the perfect solution.
For example, Ethernet switches equipped with multimode fiber ports are connected using a pair of M720DA, enabling multimode to single-mode conversion and ensuring reliable connectivity across extended distances.
Additional applications for the MM to SM fiber converter include:
Providing secure, EMI-free connections for government agencies
Extending traffic control or monitoring systems to a central office over long distances
Expanding network connectivity to remote areas in auditoriums, stadiums, or other venues

FAQs
Does the M720DA require any configuration to convert multimode to single mode fiber? I have multimode fiber from my ISP that needs to be converted to single mode for my firewall.+
No configuration is required. This is an auto-sensing device. Once you install a multimode SFP and a singlemode SFP module into the SFP ports, the device will automatically convert the signal.
Is the M720DA TAA compliant?+
Is the M720DA compatible with switches and SFP modules from other brands? +
You would just need to verify that you match the network speed and wavelengths accordingly.
For example, if you have a 1000Base Gigabit Singlemode SFP module with a 1310nm wavelength installed into the M720DA, you would need to connect it to another 1000Base Gigabit Singlemode SFP module with a 1310nm wavelength in a device at the other end of the fiber cable.
Does the M720DA come with a power supply and power connector? +
Yes, a 120VAC to a 5VDC wall brick power supply is provided.
Does the M720DA include SFP modules?+
SFP modules are sold separately.
Can the M720DA act as a repeater for multimode-to-multimode fiber conversion?+
Yes, The M720DA will also act as a repeater so you can input MM and come out MM.
